Your Eye Health Comes First
Dr. Graytok and the rest of the team believe in preserving your long-term vision through early diagnosis and treatment. Eye disease can come in different forms, and we diagnose and manage eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic eye disease, and age-related macular degeneration.
We also implement innovative diagnostic technology such as OCT, fundus photography, and the visual field test into our eye exams to get a complete picture of your eye health.
Along with cataract evaluations, Dr. Graytok also offers regular checkups for diabetic and macular degeneration patients on a 6-month basis. Contact us to schedule your comprehensive eye exam today.

We want to help our patients preserve their long-term eye health. The earlier we detect signs of eye disease, the sooner our team can begin preparing a personalized treatment plan to preserve your vision. OCT retinal imaging allows us to pick up on abnormalities and signs of issues.
Regular eye exams are essential so our team can keep up with any changes in your vision.

We strive to help our patients understand the different types of eye diseases and their symptoms so they know the importance of regular, consistent eye exams.
Cataracts
Cataracts develop when the normally clear lens in your eye becomes cloudy. The cloudy nature of cataracts can vary from small areas to larger areas that cause a noticeable loss of vision. Blurry vision, decreased night vision, and dull or muted colors can all be signs of cataracts.
If cataracts progress to an advanced stage and prevent you from going about your daily activities, such as reading or driving, cataract surgery is the only option to remove them.
We offer detailed cataract evaluations to determine if surgery is needed.
Glaucoma
Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions that occurs due to damage to the optic nerve, potentially leading to vision loss and blindness if not detected and treated early. The optic nerve plays a vital role and carries information your retina receives to your brain, providing vision.
Damage from glaucoma can be caused by abnormally high pressure in the eye, referred to as intraocular pressure. Family history, age, and eye injuries are all glaucoma risk factors. It’s important to maintain a consistent eye exam schedule for early detection.
We implement the visual field test into our eye exams to test for glaucoma.
AMD
Age-related macular degeneration is a progressive condition that affects your central vision, damaging the macula. This damage can make activities like reading and driving more difficult. AMD is a leading cause of vision loss among older adults, and there are 2 main types:
- Dry AMD is the more common form of the disease and occurs in early, intermediate, and late stages. This form of AMD occurs when the macula thins with age.
- Wet AMD is the less common form of the disease and causes faster and more severe vision loss. Wet AMD occurs when abnormal blood vessels grow in the back of the eye and damage the macula.
Prevention methods such as giving up smoking, wearing UV protection, switching to a healthier diet, and consistent eye exams can help slow the progression of the disease. Our team uses OCT to check for macular degeneration.
Diabetic Eye Disease
Diabetes can increase the risk of developing eye diseases such as cataracts and diabetic retinopathy, which is the primary vision loss concern for patients with diabetes.
Diabetic retinopathy is a condition that causes damage to the blood vessels of the retina. This damage is caused by a buildup of excess sugar in your blood and can lead to a number of health issues.
Symptoms of diabetic retinopathy can include:
- Blurry vision
- Black spots or holes in vision
- A loss of central vision
Consistent eye exams and our diagnostic technology, such as OCT, can help our team check for signs of diabetic retinopathy.
Our Diagnostic Technology
To help assist in the early detection of eye diseases and conditions, we use innovative diagnostic technology during our comprehensive eye exams.
OCT
Optical coherence tomography creates high-resolution, cross-sectional images of your eyes using light waves, allowing us to check for hard-to-see issues. This 3D image of your retina allows us to explore if your retinal layers are distorted and check for eye diseases like macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
The OCT scan is efficient and comfortable. Our team walk you through the process when you visit us for your appointment.
Fundus Photography
Fundus photography allows our team to take an in-depth look at the eye’s fundus, or interior surface of the back of the eyeball. Fundus photography helps us assess your eye health and diagnose eye diseases such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
Visual Field Test
A visual field test helps our team measure how much vision you have in either eye and how much vision loss has occurred over time. The visual field test also checks for blind spots in your vision, and we can use it to test for glaucoma and monitor peripheral vision loss caused by the disease.
Comprehensive Long-Term Care
Eye diseases can be challenging to manage and navigate, and we want you to know that you’re not alone. Our team has the experience and technology to help diagnose and manage the different forms of eye disease.
